2017-08-22 | Stepping up its plans for further expansion in the mobile sector, global manufacturer, Vestel, is set to hit the European market with a dynamic new series of smartphones. Marking the launch of Vestel as a brand in Europe, the design-inspired series is to be sold and marketed under the company’s own name.
The news was broken at this year’s Mobile World Congress, where Vestel celebrated the impending launch with a record-breaking feat of show-stopping skill and power. Building an animated mosaic with 500 of its 5.5-inch Full HD smartphones, Vestel set a new Guinness World Record for creating the world’s largest smartphone wall.
Already a household name in Turkey and other parts of the Middle East, Vestel has made quick progress in the domestic market, working with network operators, such as Vodafone and Turkcell, and generating large volume business.
Bringing trend-setting designs and technologies to the mainstream mass market, the new sim-free series for Europe will offer a tantalising and competitive brand proposition, delivering as standard, premium-feel features including eye-catching screen-to-body ratios and vibrant, high resolution displays. Encompassing three distinct ranges – the Z,V and E series, this Android powered line-up is aimed at a broad demographic, providing design-led, step-up, feature-rich handsets for its V series and aspirational smartphone technology for the company’s premium Z series.
In touch with the designs and trends of nearby Europe, the Turkish OEM giant offers shorter lead times as well greater cost efficiency thanks to its highly automated production process and vast manufacturing capacity.
A multi-industry giant, Vestel is already one of the top three global TV producers, having won acclaim for putting the “smart” in TV, and then again in home appliances and LED lighting.
It is this drive and multi-sector expertise that are, the company says, to set Vestel apart. Responsible for all the business’ pan-European brands, the Managing Director of Vestel UK, Matthew Lang, comments, “Hugely important to our growth and development, this European line-up will enable us to tap into the rising demand for greater diversity and design-driven focus at the mid-to-entry levels of the market. Drawing on our leading-edge experience in LED and display technologies as well as smart innovation, we have created a highly accessible range that can offer an engaging visual and audio experience in addition to more powerful, longer-lasting operation. Our expansive cross-industry reach will also give us additional edge, allowing us to explore app developments for the numerous WiFi-enabled products that we’re currently creating across multiple mainstream brands.
Mr Lang continues, “Vestel’s vast, multi-sector supply chain will be key to our distribution strategy, enabling us to leverage a greater range of commercial opportunities. With such a vast network of mass market retailers, we have more scope to drive volume through national electrical chains and superstores. Whilst our smartphone business in Turkey has opened the door for us to work with a selection of network operators, our strong relationships with distributors and online outlets will provide further sales potential.
Of Vestel’s celebratory record-breaking smartphone display, Mr Lang concludes, “Our creation of this vast smartphone wall has served as a great pre-launch teaser, spectacularly illustrating the scale of our huge ambition. A nod to our roots in the TV sector, it has highlighted our passion for audio visual technology – an area of expertise that we definitely intend to reflect in the design of our smartphones.”
